Sit down in your old kitchen – and buy a new one! I designed a concept for the danish kitchen store Kvik, making it possible to plan, design and buy a new kitchen from home.

This school project started with an self-initiated brief where I wanted to design a modern and user-centered e-commerce solution. I chose to design a new website for the Danish kitchen store Kvik.
The concept is based on including the user on an early point in the kitchen-buying-process. The website’s main focus is the step-by-step planner where the user can assemble kitchen modules, customise the doors, countertops and appliances, and send the sketch to Kvik for approval. Planning a kitchen is a complicated process, so I’ve made the planner focus on one choice at the time – and with frequent tips and recommendations at each step.
During the design work, I saw that the website got a very rational expression and that it was perhaps not so motivating to use. There was a need to make it more emotional, at least to convince the user to initiate the kitchen planner. I therefore designated an "inspiration base", where the user can read articles about everything from new materials, tips on selecting a countertop, new trends, etc.
All 3D-renders by Kvik.
This is a fictional concept, and Kvik was not involved in the process.
